about colourburn
by julian josef berger
I like to consider myself a storyteller, always obsessing over how stories are told. For a while, that meant analyzing literary classics at UBC. Today, it means obsessing over typography, grid systems & beautiful vintage colour palettes.
colourburn is part personal experimentation & part professional practice. It’s where my love for the sizzle & zest of vintage design meets the technical precision of classic layout.

I value connection. I believe the best design comes from listening intently and building something that feels truly meaningful.
I drum in a band. Music, like design, is about rhythm, tension & structure. It’s about distilling loud ideas and organizing them into something felt & experienced. I bring that same ear for "composition" to every brand identity & design I create.

why me?
I’m a one-person studio. So you get a direct collaborator who cares about the why as much as the how.
I believe in clear & transparent communication, that no detail is a small detail & exceeding expectations should be the baseline.
